Iowa Rallies From 10 Points Down to Kick Last Second Field Goal
In a wild and exciting finish to the game, the Iowa Hawkeyes football team rallied from 10 points down to defeat the Northwestern Wildcats with a last-second 24-yard field goal. The win gives Iowa a 4-2 record on the season and keeps them in the hunt for the Big Ten West title.
Hawkeyes Overcome Slow Start
Iowa got off to a slow start in the game, falling behind 10-0 in the first quarter. However, the Hawkeyes fought back with a 10-yard touchdown run by running back Kaleb Johnson in the second quarter. The Hawkeyes then took the lead in the third quarter on a 22-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Spencer Petras to wide receiver Nico Ragaini.
Northwestern Fights Back
Northwestern kept fighting back and tied the game at 17-17 on a 35-yard field goal by kicker Jack Coco with just over 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. After Iowa missed a pair of chances to take the lead late in the game, Northwestern got the ball back with 1:18 remaining on the clock and a chance to win the game. However, the Wildcats drove the ball to the Iowa 45-yard line before being halted by a pass breakup from Iowa cornerback Riley Moss.
Kicking Victory
Iowa took over on downs and a chance to win the game with a last-second field goal. After a 17-yard run by running back Gavin Williams and a 3-yard completion from Petras to Ragaini, Iowa kicker Caleb Shudak kicked a 24-yard field goal with just two seconds remaining on the clock. The field goal gave Iowa a 20-17 victory.

Iowa will return to action on Saturday, October 15th, when they host the Ohio State Buckeyes. Northwestern will also be in action on Saturday, October 15th, when they host the Maryland Terrapins.
