New York Knicks executives Ajay Mitchell and Isaiah Hartenstein met with reporters on Tuesday to discuss the team’s performance and plans for the future.
Mitchell: ‘We’re building something special here’
Mitchell, the Knicks’ general manager, expressed confidence in the team’s direction, saying, “We’re building something special here. We have a young, talented core that we believe in, and we’re excited about the future.”
Mitchell also discussed the team’s recent struggles, saying, “We’ve had some tough losses lately, but we’re not going to let that get us down. We’re going to learn from our mistakes and come back stronger.”
Hartenstein: ‘I’m committed to the Knicks’
Hartenstein, who signed a four-year, $64 million contract with the Knicks in the offseason, said he is committed to the team long-term.
“I’m excited to be a part of this organization,” Hartenstein said. “I believe in what we’re building here, and I’m committed to helping this team win.”
Hartenstein also discussed his role on the team, saying, “I’m here to do whatever it takes to win. I can play multiple positions, and I’m always willing to put in the work.”
Outlook
The Knicks are currently 11-15 this season, and they are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.
However, the team has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, and they are hoping to make a push for the playoffs.
Mitchell said, “We’re not going to give up on this season. We’re going to keep fighting, and we’re going to make a run at the playoffs.”
