The Huskers extended their winning streak to eight games and improved their overall record to 13-3, while Wisconsin fell to 9-4.

“I’m proud of our team for the way they played tonight,” said Nebraska head coach John Cook. “We knew Wisconsin was a great team, but we stayed focused and executed our game plan.”

Nebraska’s Lexi Rodriguez led the Huskers with 14 kills, while Madi Kubik added 13 and Whitney Lauenstein had 12. Wisconsin’s Anna Smrek led all players with 17 kills.

“It was a good all-around performance,” said Rodriguez. “We served and passed well, and we were able to get our middles involved in the offense.”

The victory was Nebraska’s first sweep of Wisconsin since 2017. The Huskers have now won their last three meetings against the Badgers.

“We’re starting to play our best volleyball of the season,” said Kubik. “We’re excited about the challenges that lie ahead.”

Nebraska will continue its Big Ten schedule on the road next weekend, facing Iowa on Friday and Illinois on Saturday. Wisconsin will host Michigan on Wednesday and Ohio State on Saturday.

The victory also moved Nebraska into a tie with Penn State for first place in the Big Ten standings. The Huskers will have a chance to take the outright lead next weekend with a win over Illinois.
