
Daniel Penny Tells Police ‘I Put Him Out’ In Never
Daniel Penny, the man accused of murdering 23-year-old Jordan Stevens in the Perth suburb of Never in February, has told police he “put him out”.

Stevens was allegedly bashed to death in the early hours of February 19. His body was found in a laneway behind a block of units on Dowling Street.
Penny, 24, was arrested on February 20 and charged with murder. He appeared in Perth Magistrates Court via video link on February 22 and was remanded in custody.
Penny’s Statement to Police
According to police documents, Penny told detectives that he and Stevens had been drinking together on the night of the alleged murder.
“He was getting a bit aggressive,” Penny is alleged to have told police. “I put him out.”
Penny’s lawyer, Seamus Rafferty, said his client maintains his innocence.
“He’s a young man who’s still coming to terms with what’s happened,” Rafferty said.
Victim’s Family Devastated
Stevens’ family has said they are devastated by his death.
“He was a beautiful young man with his whole life ahead of him,” said his mother, Sharon Stevens.
“We can’t believe he’s gone.
Case Adjourned
Penny’s case has been adjourned until March 22.
He is expected to appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video link.
