Utah Jazz Remain Winless in Denver, Fall to Nuggets in Blowout
The Utah Jazz extended their winless streak in Denver to eight games as they fell to the Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets 132-102 on Wednesday night.
Jazz Struggle on the Road
The Jazz have now lost all three road games this season, including a pair of double-digit defeats to the Nuggets. Denver improved to 5-0 at home, while Utah remains winless.
“We’re just not playing with enough energy or focus on the road,” said Jazz coach Quin Snyder. “We’ve got to find a way to change that.”
Jokic Dominates Inside
Jokic continued his impressive start to the season, posting 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists for his second triple-double of the year. The Nuggets’ All-Star center scored 17 points in the paint and was a force on the defensive end.
“He’s a special player,” said Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell. “We’ve got to find a way to slow him down.”
Nuggets Turnovers Fuel Jazz
Despite the lopsided scoreline, the Jazz kept themselves in the game by forcing 20 Nuggets turnovers. Utah converted those miscues into 28 points.
“We didn’t take care of the ball tonight,” said Nuggets coach Michael Malone. “That was a big part of the reason why we lost.”
Looking Ahead
The Jazz will return home to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, while the Nuggets will host the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
