Edmonton Oilers Defeat Vancouver Canucks 4-3
The Edmonton Oilers defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 in Game 7 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Saturday night, advancing to the Western Final.
Oilers Win Series in Dramatic Fashion
The Oilers scored three goals in the third period, including the game-winner from Connor McDavid with just over two minutes remaining, to complete the comeback and win the series 4-3.
“It was a great win for our team,” said Oilers coach Dave Tippett. “We showed a lot of character and resilience to come back and win this series.”
Canucks Fall Short in Game 7
The Canucks, who had won the first two games of the series, were unable to close it out in Game 7.
“It’s a tough way to lose,” said Canucks coach Travis Green. “We had a chance to win the series, but we couldn’t get it done.”
Oilers Advance to Western Final
The Oilers will now face the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Final. The Avalanche are the top seed in the Western Conference and are the favorites to win the Stanley Cup.
“We’re excited to be in the Western Final,” said McDavid. “We know it’s going to be a tough series, but we’re confident that we can win.”
